I raise my hand and touch the wheel of change
taking time to check the dial

MOUNTAIN

Milton Nascimento Yaurete CBS 230123 1987 release. The track Mountain is co-credited to Cat Stevens. These lyrics come courtesy of George Brown and this is what he says about this song in an e-mail

"I'd hazard a guess and say the lyrics are by Cat but the melody isn't typical Cat style. Milton sings it in English but he may be struggling with the pronounciation and half is sung in Brazillian,  where he sounds more confident. "

MOUNTAIN (Milton Nascimento/Cat Stevens/Marcio Borgas)

Midnight come, colors are melting
White moon shivering on the sea
Like a ghost up to the mountain
Wax Queen will carry me
I can see forest for miles
All the creatures small and large
If you crumble I won’t be living
For my love would have no house

Mountain, oh mighty mountain
Show me secrets you have
So I may become brother to Moses
And live, live and be glad
I can feel all of your powers
Growing lighter in the dark
If you crumble I won’t be living
For my love would have no heart
